Only individuals issued a formal delegation of authority to sign contracts can sign written contracts for goods and services. This includes travel and entertainment contracts (such as food, catering, hotels, and other event-related services). Please view the list of campus officials with formal delegation of authority to see who is authorized to sign on behalf of the university.
Contracts issued on behalf of the Regents are only valid if signed by a delegated official of the state. If you sign a contract for the university without this authority, you are taking on personal risk. The contract may be considered unenforceable, and the signatory may be held personally liable for the agreement.
To process a contract, please submit a Contract Request Form via ServiceNow. Alternatively, we recommend asking your vendor if they will accept a purchase order (PO) or direct payment without requiring a formal signature, as this often simplifies and expedites the procurement process.
