Live Events & Cal/OSHA Labor Safety Requirements
On March 16, 2026 at 1PM, Ryan Zoldos (EH&S) and Calli Price (Procurement) presented new Cal/OSHA labor and safety requirements for live events, and how UCSB will comply.
Experts from EH&S and Procurement will explain the new legal requirements for live event labor and vendor safety training; in addition to how UCSB will operationalize these requirements and what Purchasing will be doing to assist departments through this process.
Entertainment events vendors contracted to set up, operate or tear down live events at public events venues must comply with the new requirements. UC Santa Barbara departments that contract out (or rent equipment) for events should attend to understand which vendors this new regulation is applicable to as well as what their departmental responsibilities are
